The Carrie Diaries Makeup Trends

Hello Awesome Readers~

This post is inspired by my current obsession TV series The Carrie Diaries. If you are a fan like me, this post is really made for you. Those who haven't seen The Carrie Diaries, I highly recommend it!! This is not just your ordinary American Teen drama series. It's unique time period will not only surprise you with how different people act and make decisions during that time but will also mirror our society and teenagers today.

The Carrie Diaries early 80's treatment is really captivating. Women during this time were bolder and more confident with themselves and it is reflected with the way they carry themselves, the way they put on makeup and even their chosen careers. They take pride in wearing bright and vibrant colors.

Because of this, I got the inspiration to publish a post on how you can achieve the 80's makeup. Although Carrie Bradshaw, the lead character of the said series, has almost no make up on in most of her scenes, the people surrounding her on the other hand are a great example of the 80's fashion and style. So let's turn back time and let's dive in to the colorful makeup trends of the 1980's.

Women in the 80's were all out with bold and bright eyeshadows. They literally paint their eyes with so many vibrant colors. Heavy use of eyeliner is also very evident in their makeup looks. The most popular color during this time was teal blue or electric blue. It is usually mixed with another bold secondary color like orange, yellow etc.

The eyelashes during this time were colorful and attention grabbing! Definitely something you will only wear on a show or on Halloween today.

Have i mentioned how colorful this time period was? So for the cheeks the same rule applies. The more pronounced your cheeks are, the better.

Neon colored lips were so in during this time. Think of bright pink, orange or red. The trick is also to have well moisturized lips so don't forget your lip gloss. ^^

There you guys, the makeup trends in the 80's. I really hope you enjoyed reading this! Kudos to the makers of The Carrie Diaries show! ^^
