Makeup Spotlight: Essence Get Big! Lashes Volume Curl

For today's Makeup Spotlight, I will be focusing on a new mascara I recently bought which you happen to see on my latest haul post HERE. It's the Essence Get Big Lashes Volume Curl.

I've been really wanting to get a hold of any Essence makeup product since the store opened in our country. So when I get the chance to do so, i was actually looking for a new mascara so I scanned their mascara variants and spotted this Get Big Lashes Volume Curl mascara which was really affordable (160php). I was actually torn between the Volume Curl mascara and the Lengthening one. Then finally settled in buying the Volume Curl instead.


What is Essence Get Big Lashes Volume Curl?

Essence Get Big Lashes Volume Curl claims to give maximum volume and perfect curled lashes. An eye-catching effect is guaranteed. It has extra -large, curved brush for perfect curl. It has pampering jojoba wax and has opthalmologically tested.

So here are the things I liked about Essence Get Big Lashes Volume Curl:

Jet black mascara color
No pungent smell
Separates the lashes well because of the big mascara wand
Doesn't easily clump even if I did 2 coats
Easy to remove
Affordable price
Readily available in the market



What I didn't like:

Too wet
Cannot hold the curl of my lashes too long, after a while my lashes will droop down again
Tendency to smudge or to transfer on my lower lashes
The extra-big wand/brush can be difficult to work with especially when reaching the corners of my eyes
Not water-proof




In conclusion, I can say that this mascara did a fairly good job on making my lashes appear more volumized. Considering the price, this mascara is definitely a keeper. The only thing I am really asking for this product is to really sustained the curl of my lashes once I applied this. I really want to have perfectly curled mascara that is low maintenance  something I didn't have to re-curl /retouch every now and then. But overall, i can say that this product is a good mascara to try in the market but if you are looking for so much more when it comes to holding the curl of your lashes, then you might want to skip this for now.
