Hello Awesome Readers~

Christmas is just around the corner and I know a lot of you guys have your own Christmas wishlists to check. I've shared on my Facebook Page about it and I am just so ecstatic to share with you guys the first fulfillment of my Christmas wishlist.

I really wanted to have an upgrade on this area for the longest time but since an upgrade requires money I waited for a period of time before this wish came to reality. Originally, I wanted this camera upgrade on my birthday but for some reasons I wasn't able to push through it. All the waiting was definitely worth it when I finally had my hands on this new toy for photography and video filming - my newest baby - Canon Powershot S110.

Canon Powershot  S110 wasn't even my first choice, I planned to buy a different Canon Camera but after researching I found out it wasn't the camera upgrade I am looking for. It's always a must to do your research before buying anything in general especially when your going to buy anything expensive like gadgets or appliances to avoid getting so disappointed with your purchase. Thanks to the blogging world, I finally made the decision to buy this camera and was super happy about everything about it!

Just for a disclaimer, I am no tech savvy, I just want to share my thoughts about this camera. My thoughts may differ from yours and that's perfectly fine. I am in no way sponsored by the online shop i bought this from and wasn't related to Canon in anyway. But if you still have further questions after reading this post feel free to leave a comment below. Now let's get to the review shall we?

What is Canon Powershot S110? (10,700php DB Gadget but original price in the market is around 20K)

According to usa.canon.com, Canon Powershot S110 packs a world of advancements into its sleek, pocket-sized body. Some of the major features of this camera are the following:
  • 12.1 Megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor
  • DIGIC 5 Image Processor that create the exclusive Canon HS SYSTEM
  • 12-bit multi aspect RAW+JPEG.
  • 24mm Wide-Angle
  • bright f/2.0 lens with 5x Optical Zoom and ISO speeds all the way up to 12800 deliver breathtaking images, even in low light.
  • with new High Speed AF for sharply reduced lag time
  •  new capacitive touch panel LCD
  • built-in Wi-Fi® that lets you share images and video online

Packaging:

It comes in a typical camera box with all the essentials - CD, cords, charger, battery and lanyard but sad to say it didn't come with an SD card and camera casing.

Camera Body:

It has a really sturdy plastic body. It's not that heavy nor too light. I chose color white and it looks so beautiful. It's true that for it's compact nature, it's amazing how it could do wonders on photos and videos as well. It has two dial rings one on the front surrounding the lenses and one at the back surrounding the Function setting button. It also has this nice thumb rest perfect for shooting in hand held. It also has a pop up flash for flash photography and the 3.0 inch touch screen came in so handy and it has amazing response. I am totally sold with the packaging alone!!

Camera Performance:

I love how this camera performs even in low light. It definitely lives up to what it claims to be. This is what I've been searching for and wanting for my camera to be because there are a lot of times I shoot under low light conditions. Now that I have this camera around I don't think I have to worry about it anymore. I also love the stability of this camera even if I have shaky hands, it still captures sharp images.

Now for the video performance, I am so happy about the macro setting! It focuses the subject pretty fast compared to my past camera experiences. It has superb macro setting I'm telling you. It focuses even when zoomed in. This is my major complain with my Olympus camera before. Glad I have Canon S110 now to tote around for filming just about anything even under low light conditions.

Camera Features:

Built in Wifi is definitely what i loved about this the most. I can get to view and easily transfer and upload all of my photos from S110 to my smartphone. Super convenient and efficient too!

I am also inlove with the miniature effect mode! Perfect for shooting landscapes and objects too!

Another cool thing about this camera's feautures is the Movie Digest! Once selected, it takes a clip with each shot to make a day's summary! Super cool!!

Price:

The price is definitely hefty if you will be purchasing this camera in the department stores. Definitely not a smart choice. It doesn't go below 20k in the department stores and having this available in my favorite online gadget store is an answered prayer! I was able to get this for only 10, 700 php!! Can you imagine the savings that I scored! I bought mine more than half of the original price! What a deal! If you haven't tried online shopping specifically on  DB Gadget for your gadget needs and upgrades you are definitely missing a lot!

CONCLUSION:

Canon Powershot S110 is definitely worth every dime! This camera is a full package - beautiful packaging with amazing performance and features. I really am so in love with S110. I remembered watching a video demo and review of this camera on youtube and it was categorized under DSLR. The quality you'll get and the amount of features you can use for shooting is close to what basic dslr cameras can do.

Although I am still adjusting to it, I am pretty much sure that in no time I will get the right ingredients to maximize this camera's full potential! Trully a highly suggested camera upgrade for those who are still looking for a new camera to buy this holidays! Another happy purchase for me!

Arrienne
