Hello Awesome Readers~

One more day before Halloween!! ^^ I can't wait to see my friends' costumes and get up for tomorrow~ Are you like me who look forward for the celebration tomorrow?

Well, honestly speaking, we won't have any grand celebration in the office for the Halloween. Since my bosses are all Korean and they don't really celebrate this occasion, it is therefore understood. But my friends and my team will not let this day pass by without having a simple celebration. Halloween only happens once a year so better yet enjoy it.

For sure, a lot of you are still contemplating and conceptualizing on who and what to wear on Halloween. You definitely want to impress your colleagues with how you look but still want to stay on a budget and not spending a whole new wardrobe just for a single event.

So for today, I would like to share some tips on how you can come up with some cool Halloween ideas that will surely make an impression without emptying your pockets.

Halloween is a perfect time to dress up and be different. Who said that Halloween is only for kids? Yes, we cannot go trick or treating anymore, but we can still have fun dressing up and taking pictures of our very own versions of our favorite character costumes, right? So for those who are having hard time deciding on what to be or wear on Halloween, here are some ideas:

IDEA NUMBER 1:

If you like to go all out with dramatic costumes and hair dresses without spending too much, just go with characters that will be easy to recreate and whose costumes will be available in Ukay-ukay or Thrift Stores or perhaps make use of your own clothes and just customize it to look alike. Remember, it doesn't have to be EXACTLY the same, you can just use that characters costume as your inspiration.

Here is a PIRATE inspired outfit that you can come up with. Almost all of the these are wearable and you can definitely find this in your closet or your friends. You can just borrow it then put it all together then there you have your PIRATE COSTUME. ^_^

One more idea is this LOLITA inspired outfit. If you are more on the girly side and would like to showcase it even more, then go for this look. Very easy to recreate. Again, you don't have to buy a costume, just look around your closet and see if you have anything similar to this and your good to go!

IDEA NUMBER 2:

If you are into movies and you would like your Halloween costume coming from it. Then here are some easy looks that you can recreate.

Here we have the infamous BLACK SWAN. All you will be needing is a black tube and a black tutu skirt. You just have to recreate the makeup then you are done!
SOURCE
Here is a very simple and easy look of KATNISS EVERDEEN from Hunger Games. All you will be needing is a cargo pants and a simple black shirt. Just braid your hair then your done!

IDEA NUMBER 3:

If you want to turn back the time and rock the 80's or 70's. These ideas might be of help.

Here is the ever classic and elegant AUDREY HEPBURN. Her look is very simple and easy to find. The key pieces would be the classic black dress and the high bun! ^^

Now here's one of my favorite outfits in the past. High waist polka dots skirt and a simple white top will make your transformation to the past complete.

There you go ladies! I really hope this post will help you decide your Halloween look tomorrow. Just remember that no matter what you decide to wear, just OWN it and ROCK it!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

ARRIENNE

Hello Awesome Readers~

Long time no post. I missed you all so much! Last week had been the busiest week of my life. I had so much to do. And I apologize I cannot squeeze in my free time writing a blog post for you guys. So today, I will be sharing to you the most wonderful thing that happened to me last October 24, Wednesday - my birthday!

In the past, I define happiness as something tangible, something you can possess and keep forever. I looked for so many ways on how to be happy - material possessions, clothes, loads and loads of makeup - things that will not last forever. I though this was the only way to make yourself truly happy.

I associate birthday celebrations with status in life. The grander the better. The more expensive things you acquire on your birthday the more people will look up to you and like you. But today, I was changed.

Few days before my birthday, i got severely sick. All of my plans for my birthday were changed by how I will surpass this and how I will be cured. I devote my time talking to my father (papa) and my God. I prayed hard to become healthy again and gave up everything I planned for. And I said to myself, from now on, I will be a better servant and will be more faithful to my God.

God's timing is always perfect and He is indeed an answering God. He healed me few days before my birthday. And with that I am already satisfied. But God didn't stop from answering my prayer to heal me, He even blessed my friends hearts to surprise me in the office and made my day EXTRA SPECIAL.

I cannot measure how truly HAPPY  I am to have been blessed by God. This my friend is the real meaning of HAPPINESS. I am glad that He made me experience it with friends and family that are like angels to my life. I cannot put into words the contentment and joy I have in me because of this. Allow me to share my amazing blessings and hope to inspire you as well!

Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me! Thank you guys and GOD for making me so HAPPY!

Here are the pictures!~ Enjoy~
Special Thanks to my great friend Kristine for the photos!

Hello Awesome Readers~

It's another beautiful Monday! I did a lot of fun things last weekend and I am going to share it to you tomorrow. For now, I am so excited to share to all of you another Inspired look I did for one of the most talked about TV series The Walking Dead. My good friend Kristine and I collaborated on this mini project for we both LOVE this show. I did the makeup tutorial and she did the nails. I had so much fun doing this inspired look and I can't wait till you all see this!

The Walking Dead is such a big hit all around the globe. They had the most awesome looking zombies i've ever seen. It always fascinates me to see how their prosthetic makeup is done and how it looks so real. Creating a look inspired by it is not an easy task. Ofcourse, you will be all comparing my work to the real ones, so I am so scared that you might think mine is a rubbish! hahah :) But anyhow, I still took the risk and play around with my imagination and I am glad that I had fun creating this look.

So yesterday, I took the chance to follow DulceCandy's footsteps in creating a walker look. She did it so well and I know I can't replicate it nor come any near that master piece. So i just decided to get some tips from her and incorporate it in my inspired look. Here are the materials used:

Elmers Glue (served as my prosthetic makeup)
Lip Liner from WetnWild in Chestnut Brown
Dollface concealer and corrector palette
BYS pressed powder in Light
Brown Gel Liner

If you want to know how I did it~ Watch out for the tutorial on my Youtube Channel! ~
What to you think guys?

My great friend Kristine from RealAsianBeauty created a Nail art inspired by the show as well. I always admire her creative thinking in making and designing her nail arts. For sure some of you have heard of her and have seen her works.

We did a collaboration look for our one of our favorite shows The Walking Dead and here's what she came up with. Her inspirations were the deadly signage found in the show and gory blood surrounding it.

We filmed a tutorial on these two looks, so please check put our channel to see more of our works. Go to her channel RealAsianBeauty and mine as well Mineeh11.

Check out my video tutorial to see how I did it!

Hello Awesome Readers~

Long time no talk! I apologize for not writing this past few days. But now, I am back to share more stories with you.

To start of, I discovered a new place to eat. Last weekend, Pagibig and I went out on a date and we saw Taken 2. Just to share, I really liked that movie! Anyway, he introduced this new fast food chain in Alimall that caters to those Filipinos and Filipinos at heart their cravings for ADOBO! If you haven't tasted any Filipino food, ADOBO is the most "PATOK" or "HIT" to a lot of foreigners! Adobo is meat marinated with soy sauce, vinegar and garlic served with rice. It is so popular that it is even used as a title of a movie "American Adobo."

At first, I thought it was just another food chain that claims that they serve authentic Filipino dishes. But I was wrong. I am talking about ADOBO CONNECTION! I didn't actually order adobo dish but we tried 2 other dishes that are their best sellers! So here we go!

Dish Number 1

Chicken Adobo sa Gata (169php)

This  food was THE BEST! I love the playful addition of Gata in the adobo. The taste was so rich. I will never get enough of eating this. This meal package has Unli rice included, so you can always ask for more! I love this dish! I really recommend this to you!

Dish Number 2

Beef Kare-Kare (189php)

I love Kare-kare, but because of my allergies towards seafood, I am somehow hesitant in buying or eating this particular dish. But I got SURPRISE that Adobo Connection Kare-Kare is served with fish paste not shrimp! AMEN!! This was so good! Their Beef kare-kare was so delicious! Another thumbs up to this dish! Definitely recommended!

We also got 2 other food. One from the meal upgrades and from desserts. I ordered this Pandan Jelly (39php) that I consider my second favorite Pandan Jelly that I had ever tasted. My number 1 is from Max's Restaurant. I love the milky taste and it's not very sweet! It's just right for my sweet tooth!

Pagibig got Chicken Sopas (19php) which i didn't try coz I am not a fan of soups, but he said the taste was good. ^_^

I can therefore conclude that ADOBO CONNECTION is a very promising Filipino food chain that we should all try and be proud of. The next time i gain foreign friends, I will definitely bring them here!
Hello Awesome Readers~

HAPPY TUESDAY!

I am glad to be finally sharing some photos about the Fashion Show I attended last Thursday. The Upper East Siders people were too kind to book us this great opportunity to do the hair and makeup of their models in the Fashion show. Because of this great opportunity, i filed a leave in our office just to be with them! ^^ I won't miss this!

So the Fashion Show was held in Patio de Manila in Roxas Boulevard. It showcased a lot of Filipino designers and also some US shoe brands. It was an amazing experience. We got to play around with roughly about 20 models dominated by females. The concept for the model's look is very natural. Just strong cat eye and pale lips. The hair should high sleek ponytail. This was the idea of one of the heads of the show to not contradict the designers clothes. Some designers did  couture dresses and some did RTW with a twist.

Being in the backstage of a Fashion Show is just thrilling. You don't get to do this everyday. And I am glad that these people trusted us with this job. It fascinates me to see plain looking faces turn into GORGEOUSNESS. The models are extremely tall! They instantly made us midgets! hahaha :) But I love that fact that they are not choosy with whatever product will be used on them and that they were all very friendly.

I am looking forward to another event like this soon! I am so planning to learn more and experience more!

Enjoy the pictures! All credits to Arni's husband Squid Raquid. If you like his photographs click this link to more about him.

Gorgeous Couture dress~

MUA: Arni Raquid! ^^ Very beautiful model~

One of my creations :) She doesn't want to shave her brows that's why I just concealed to groom it.

One of those SUPER TALL models! I think she was the tallest in the batch!

Another of my creation! Love her face, she looks like Angelina Jolie up close!

My model taking a fierce pose!~ Work it girl~!

Same model that looks like Angelina Jolie in the ramp!

Hello Awesome Readers~

I wasn't able to post the wedding event last time. I got sick :(. Glad i'm okay now. So finally here's the much delayed post about the wedding gig my friend and i did last October 6.

So early morning, my friend and i met up and went straight to the hotel where the bride and the rest of the entourage were waiting. My friend took over with taking care with the bride and i went ahead and did the bride's maid of honor, the groom's sister and the mother of the bride.

The motif the wedding was royal and gray. So i chose colors that will compliment the motif but won't over shadow the beauty of the bride. It is important to let the bride shine since it is her special day so i carefully chose the colors that i will use for their eye look. Though my clinets requested for something colorful for their makeup look, i made the colors muted so that it won't look too heavy for a day time wedding event.

It took about 4 hours before we finished everyone and i am glad that we finished on time, just before the we head on to the church. The church looked special and the bride looked so beautiful. I am glad that the feedback we got from the bride's family were all positive. They were satisfied on our service and i am looking forward to more wedding gigs in the near future. If you want to book me, here is my business card. See how i did it HERE.

Special thanks to Arni's husband for the awesome pictures! ^^

Thank you so much for reading this post.

Hello Awesome Readers~

Been gone for a day. Fashion show was a success!! Wasn't able to update so much on facebook for i spent more than 5 hours prepping more than a handful of models at a time. But don't worry i will be posting blog articles about the wedding event and the fashion show very very soon for my photographer friend needed to edit some of it to make it presentable for all of you. :) But if you want some teas
ers about the events I've been into lately, feel free to check my facebook page.

Anyway, i would like to share about the brushes i ordered online prior to the fashion event. If you can still remember, i mentioned about this in my last post. So time for me to give my opinions about it and show to you one of my holy grails in makeup!

After long hours of searching for the makeup brush set that will suit my taste and budget, i finally found this online shop that sells Bare Naturals brushes. I loved the fact that i can get 12 beautiful brushes under 1500php. It's really hard to find quality brushes in this price rage that's why it took me forever to find this.

Bought this brush set for only 1230plus pesos.

Hello Awesome Readers~

One more day and it's the fashion show event! I'm so excited! And this morning the makeup brushes I ordered online just got in! In time for the fashion show tomorrow. :) I will do a separate blog post about the makeup brushes once i tried it and perhaps recommend it to you if I liked it!

Anyway, this morning I had a chance again to eat out for breakfast with my Pagibig. We tried something new again and I must say the experience wasn't the best. But anyway, I will still share it with guys.

Near Pagibig's place is Robinson's Supermarket. There I found a new food store named Mr. Ube Rice and Noodles House. I am really digging the design of the restaurant. It has purple and black motif. Which signifies the color of the UBE. Because of this enticing ambiance, I really want to give it a try.

Hello Awesome Readers

It is just the second day of the week and i already feel so stressed and nervous. But all in a good way. I am feeling all this because of a new event that I will be having this Thursday. It's something new and I've never done this before. I will be participating in a fashion show and I will be a makeup artist again! :) Perhaps, I had mentioned about this before. I really got stressed cause I need to order online some new stuffs that I will be needing for the event. And I don't have the luxury of time to wait for my orders to come. I really hope the makeup brushes I ordered today will arrive tomorrow. *crossing fingers*

Speaking of gathering new stuffs for the fashion event, my friend and I went to Makati last Sunday to meet the organizers and head of the event. We discussed about what would be the peg for the fashion show. Mr. Jinggo said that they want something fresh, natural makeup, dramatic eyeliner and pale lips. Not so much work to do. But me and my other makeup artist friend have to prep up 20 models. whew! Now that's a lot of work! But I am not complaining or anything, I feel more blessed with what is happening to me now. So far, October has been so GOOD to me!

So I needed to buy some new things that I think I need and that is still missing in my traincase.

Here are the products I bought and what my friend Kristine gave me for the fashion show.

Hello Awesome Readers~

Long time no post! Been very busy this weekend that's why wasn't able to update you much. The wedding event last Saturday that I've been sharing with you went very well. It was a success and the bride liked our service! I am so happy about this! :) And yesterday, I met with another client for the fashion show Arni and I will be participating on Thursday! And as usual we will be their official makeup artists~! ^^ I can't wait~ Wait for my post about the Wedding event, I just have to wait for the pictures from Arni~

Since it's already October and Halloween is fast approaching, I will be presenting to you my first Halloween look. I decided to recreate this Sugar Skull look I got from the internet. I've been really wanting to create a look like this from the time I saw it. Just can't find the perfect timing to do so. Now, Halloween is coming it is the perfect time for me to recreate this Sugar Skull look.

What is Sugar Skull?

According to mexicansugarskull.com, The Day of the Dead is one of the most celebrated holidays in Mexico. "They believe that the gates of heaven are opened at midnight on October 31, and the spirits of all deceased children (angelitos) are allowed to reunite with their families for 24 hours. On November 2, the spirits of the adults come down to enjoy the festivities that are prepared for them.

In most Indian villages, beautiful altars (ofrendas) are made in each home. They are decorated with candles, buckets of flowers (wild marigolds called cempasuchil & bright red cock's combs) mounds of fruit, peanuts, plates of turkey mole, stacks of tortillas and big Day-of-the-Dead breads called pan de muerto. The altar needs to have lots of food, bottles of soda, hot cocoa and water for the weary spirits. Toys and candies are left for the angelitos, and on Nov. 2, cigarettes and shots of mezcal are offered to the adult spirits. Little folk art skeletons and sugar skulls, purchased at open-air markets, provide the final touches. "

That's why they made colorful skulls to celebrate this holiday and to practice their tradition~

Having this said, here is my recreation of the Sugar Skull~

Hello Awesome Readers~

HAPPY FRIDAY! ^^ This day is full of blessing and celebrations. The mere fact that it's the last day of the week(days) and weekend is so near makes me so HAPPY. Not to mention the celebration the world is having now which is THE WORLDS TEACHERS DAY! I am a teacher too and I am so happy that this day was created to appreciate those people who helped in molding us for our future.

SOURCE
Can you still remember your teacher that made a huge impact in your life? When was the last time you pay them a visit?

Teaching had always been my dream job. When I was young, my dolls had been the witness of my ambition to become a teacher someday. They are my students and I am their teacher. I love wearing my moms heels as i walk just like my favorite teacher in school. I use our rooms wall as my blackboard and I cannot imagine how much chalk I consumed that time. All I know, in my little world I am the best teacher.

I never thought I will be fulfilling that dream because when I reached college, my interest started to shift. I suddenly what to pursue broadcasting hence I finished a major in Mass Communication. Teaching as an ESL Instructor came to me like a surprise. It wasn't even in my plan when I finished college. But I am glad that it happened to me. There will always be feeling of uncertainty, sometimes I don't want to do this anymore, but there are more times that I feel happy with what I can contribute in this industry.

In celebration of World's Teachers Day, I would like to extend my greetings to those who became teachers in other people's lives and helped them in one way or another to become the best that they can be. Whether you are a teacher by profession, or a teacher by surprise like I am, you are worth appreciating and I admire your dedication and your passion.

Hello Awesome Readers~

Happy OCTOBER! Too bad wasn't able to blog a lot last few days ago but anyway, I am back and I am here to give you updates about what will happen this month!

This Saturday will be one of the big events I will be attending to this month. It is the Bridal event that my friend Arni from Popsiam now Arni Raquid Makeup and I will be their official makeup artists. This is the event we had been preparing for. And this is the reason why we took Bridal Makeup Workshop. The day is getting nearer and I am starting to feel anxious, excited and nervous all at the same time. This is really a serious job for us.

As they say, people get to marry once, unless you are muslim or you want to have more partners in life, that's making the bride look her best in her most special day is so IMPORTANT. This task was given to me and my friend Arni and we will never let those people down.

In line with this big event, I started packing and organizing my makeup train case. That is what I am going to share to you guys. I really hope that this post will be helpful for those who are still starting out with their makeup career and would like to get some tips and ideas on how to organize your tools.

I filmed a video about it and this will explain further how I did it. Hope you enjoy watching and I will update you more soon!
