Makeup FACE OFF: Mousse Blush vs Stick Blush

Hello Awesome Readers~

Welcome to a new series here in my blog which is all about comparing and weighing the pros and cons of two similar makeup products but with different forms.

To start off this series, I will be facing off 2 forms of blushes in the market - Mousse and Stick blushes. You might be wondering why I didn't include powder blushes in this face off, well that is because i think Mousse and Stick blushes were not given that same attention as to powder blushes. In fact, I noticed that most of  the women prefer using Powder blushes often than these mentioned blushes. So, I decided to have a quick run down of pros and cons of using these kinds of blushes. Let's take a closer look.

What is MOUSSE BLUSH?
Mousse blush is a kind of blush that is in a lighter cream form. It is soft and will commonly come in a jar or in a container. It has the same texture and feeling of any mousse product that we use, either hair mousse or mousse foundation. Some might find it foamy because of it's super light and soft texture.

Here I have a mousse blush by EVER BILENA - a local makeup brand in the Philippines.

It is in the shade of ASTER and it weighs 7 grams.

I got this when EVER BILENA mousse collection when it was on sale for only 99php but for it's regular price it's around 130php.

What I love about this product is the feeling whenever i use my finger to apply it on my cheeks. It's very light and soft. You will never have a hard time blending it with your built-in tools. It has good pigmentation and the staying power is AMAZING. I swatched it for this review but when I tried to erase it with a tissue it didn't budge. I was impress with the staying power of this really cheap product and I must say that this is a good dupe for Maybelline's Dream Mousse blushes.

What I don't like about it is the plastic glass container they used. Well, for the price, I think it justifies it. But aside from that, I have no other complaints about this product!

What is a STICK BLUSH?
A stick blush is a blush in tube container and the product is commonly in a solid form. Coming from the name given STICK it is literally a blush on a stick. With the its nature, compared to mousse blush it is smaller in width so it's more travel friendly than the mousse blush. For application, all you have to do is to twist the bottom of the stick blush to let the product come out then have a choice of applying it directly to your cheeks or use your fingers and apply like with the mousse blush.

So over here, I have SEPHORA touche de blush in naturel nude and I got this from my friend who was selling this product at that moment from her cousins in USA. So i really can't tell you the exact price for this item.

What is love about this product is the dewy look it gives whenever you apply it. It will give you that instant glow without you looking oily. The packaging was also impressive for it has the color on top of the lid so you will be able to know what shade it is when you store it in your vanity kit.

What i don't like about this product is the formulation of stick blushes. Stick blushes can be harder to blend compared to mousse blushes. They are sticky and you really have to press hard just to spread the product evenly.

Now that I have given out and enumerated the pros and cons of using a mousse and stick blush it is now up to you to judge which performs better and which will be easier to apply.

RIGHT: EVER BILENA Mousse blush Aster

I just think that for SUMMER these two kinds of blushes are the best to use to get that natural glow long lasting glow under the scorching heat of the sun.

Hope you found this helpful and let me know what you think~

Thanks for introducing mousse and stick blushes. Yeah, you are right... People don't give that much attention to those apart from powder blush, including me :p
The stick blush somehow looks like a lipstick.. But later maybe I can try on those when I buy a blush on instead of the powder one :)
